Entering in
Entering in — to Holy Week.
Entering in — to the Mystery.
Entering in
To the thoughts and emotions of everyone… from the curious onlookers in the crowd, to the fearful and angry religious leaders, to the dismissive political leaders, to the closest followers and friends of Jesus… believing, but confused… hopeful, yet fearful… then despondent, demoralized, and grief-stricken.
Entering in
To see Jesus… a mind fixed on the purpose of absolute surrender to the Father‘s will… a strength unwavering in the face of all the torturous beating and tearing and piercing and bleeding His Body would sustain… until His Spirit — groaning with agony deeper than human comprehension at becoming the sin of all — relinquished and released that final breath.
How could He be so resolute?
How could He face such unimaginable fear?
How could He embrace such betrayal and rejection?
“for the joy that was set before Him“
Hebrews 12:2
But what joy?
The eternal triumph over sin, death, hell, and the grave?
Yes — but not triumph for its own sake.
No, indeed – all for love’s sake.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
Only Love Himself could Love like this!
